Code of Conduct

The SRA Code of Conduct for Solicitors describes the standards and business controls that Milne Moser Solicitors are expected to achieve and maintain, as outlined by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) who authorise us to provide legal services.

The Code of Conduct aims to create and maintain the right culture and environment for the delivery of competent and ethical legal services to our clients, and apply in the context of our legal practice: the way we run Milne Moser Solicitors, and all our professional activities.

A serious failure to meet these standards or a serious breach of the SRA’s regulatory requirements may lead to regulatory action being against Milne Moser Solicitors itself as an entity, or its managers or compliance officers, who each have responsibilities for ensuring that the standards and requirements are met.

The SRA may also take action against employees working within our firm for any breaches for which they are responsible.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority Code of Conduct for Firms covers the following areas:

  • Maintaining trust and acting fairly
  • Compliance and business systems
  • Cooperation and accountability
  • Service and competence
  • Client money and assets
  • Conflict of interests
  • Confidentiality and disclosure
  • Applicable standards in the SRA Code of Conduct for Solicitors, RELs and RFLs
  • Managers in SRA authorised firms
  • Compliance officers
